Dear William & Mary Student,
The brothers of the Zeta Upsilon Chapter of the Sigma Chi Fraternity would like to offer a scholarship to an outstanding freshman who exemplifies the values we uphold in our daily lives.
The Sigma Chi Fraternity was founded on the cultivation of three core values: Friendship, Justice, and Learning. 154 years later, Sigma Chi continues to espouse these same ideals.
Today, the Sigma Chi Fraternity is heading on a course that is noble and true. We are attempting to become the preeminent leadership development organization in the collegiate world. In an attempt to reach our fullest potential, we want to help others reach theirs as well.
The Sigma Chi Chapter at W&M would like to announce the Distinguished Freshman Scholarship. This is a one-time award for $250 given to a male freshman. This is strictly a merit award. There will be no preference given to individuals showing interest in or having any relation to Sigma Chi. By applying for the scholarship, you are in no way obligating yourself to our chapter or Fraternity. The recipients of this award will be chosen, by the men of the Zeta Upsilon Chapter of Sigma Chi.
Applications are due by Saturday, September 20th, 2009. The two recipients will be notified by September 21st, 2009.
If you have any questions regarding Sigma Chi or these scholarships, please contact our Scholarship Chairman Roma Korkmazsky at rfkorkmazsky@wm.edu or our President Spencer Tawse at sbtaws@wm.edu.
Sincerely,
The Brothers of Sigma Chi
